NOTES FROM NEW YORK: Over the weekend I received a message from my good buddy, David Bragdon (aka "Braggie"). It was sort of like getting a old-timey telegram from a distant relative.

Here's what Braggie's emails said: "Just back from a showing of Rid of Me at Village Cinemas...The distinctive vistas —wet pavement, clouds—and the idiosyncratic (Portland) characters make me wistful....I think I used to ride light rail with Trudy (a character played by Orianna Herrman)...at the 4:40 pm showing we had nine members of FONINYC (Former Oregonians Now In New York City) present...Many of us went for Vietnamese food afterwards and followed Katie (O'Grady's) advice to order the #78 noodle plate at Saigon Market."

Thanks David...Portland misses you too.
