Sweat cast, post-opening night show: Jason Rouse, Michael Fetters, Shelley McClendon, Sean McGrath and Andrew Harris

SWEET SWEAT: Last week I heard the same question over and over again: "Are you going to Sweat?"

It's all people were talking about.

No, people weren't remarking that I had some sort of personal perspiration problem.

They were talking about the local and now legendary comedy troupe, who go by the oddly perverse but perfect name of Sweat, that opened their latest show on Friday night at the old Theater Theater space on Southeast Belmont.

Being there on opening night was sort of thrilling. You could tell the cast—Andrew Harris, Jason Rouse, Sean McGrath, Michael Fetters, Shelley McLendon,—was amped up to bring their unique brand of comedy to the people with the help of director Brian Weaver.

And they did. Via boat (complete with a flock of seagulls). And by video. And in Spanish and a weird kind of Serbian-influenced English that focused on how much fun you can have with the name of "Justin Bieber."

I stuck around outside the theater after the show to get a few pics of the cast, their friends and a lot of the cool people who make this city tick who came out to support Sweat.

If you haven't already, you should be sweatin' it out with Sweat too. This stuff will make you pee your seat.
