Artist Sam Flores, Timbers fans, and cute tatted guy at Upper Playground

WHAT'S ON FIRST: You know its a Portland "First Thursday" when the sketchy—yet still attractive-looking—tank-top wearing dudes walking up down the bus mall in Old Town were trying to get passerbys to buy their very expensive-looking art books by saying: "Who do you like better? Chihuly or Banksy?"

Fortunately they weren't the only things to gawk at as Pearl District and Old Town galleries opened up their spaces to the streaming and steamy masses.

One of the highlights evening was getting a chance to say "hi" to Elizabeth Leach on the anniversary of her gallery's 30th year in Portland.  We also ventured down to Upper Playground where the gallery and T-shirt shop owned by Jay Sajko was celebrating five years in Old Town. My, how the time flies.
