MAKING AP-P:EAR-ANCES: You have to give it to the people behind p:ear. When they get it right, they get it really right. As they did with p:earblossoms 2011 on Saturday night at the Leftbank Annex.

The theme, ALCHEMY, provided the perfect inspiration for guests to wear "metallic" clothing and raise funds for Portland’s rapidly increasing numbers of parentless and homeless youth.

Poison Waters, Chris Funk, Holcombe Waller and others provided entertainment to dinner guests on the main level, while the lower level was packed with with over 100 silent auction items. And, back upstairs, Live Auction items included a Royal Dandie Miniature Pot-Belly Pig that went to Alan Davis of Produce Row Cafe and his brother Blake. What a lucky pig.

Patrons included a freshly shaven Mayor Sam Adams and Justin Oswald who helped make this benefit one of the most successful p:ear blossoms ever.
