KGW Replaces Oprah With Steph Stricklen News Hour
THIS JUST IN: KGW's 4 pm time slot that has been the home of The Oprah Winfrey Show for as long as any of us can remember will soon be the new home of an an hour-long local news program that will be hosted by Live @7's Stephanie Stricklen.
Stricklen herself just confirmed the hire on her twitter: "YOU GUYS! i'm the new 4pm anchor for a newscast that starts in september when Oprah ends. i'll still do Live @ 7, too!"
Stricklen is a longtime Portland broadcast reporter who currently covers the health beat as well as host a 7 pm evening show for the station. Personally, I can't think of anyone better for the new gig.

What great news; no one in Portland is more talented or more deserving of this. Stephanie Stricklen is the brightest, sharpest person in Portland TV news by far. Shrewd move by KGW.
(I guess I will have to tape the PBS News Hour now)
