Irving Street Kitchen Chef Sarah Schafer

MARCH 8^th IS FAT TUESDAY! That means it’s time for a good ol’ fashioned MARDI GRAS party, and thank the lord because Irving St. Kitchen – a hot new restaurant in the Pearl District – is doing just that.

Chef Sarah Schafer and her crew are going all out! Expect burlesque dancers Baby LaStrange and Nina Nightshade, stilt walkers, tarot card reader Madame Anastacia and magician Mark of Mystery working the room all night.  And, word is that they’ll have a fire dancer out front with live music by Pocket and Biscuits & Gravy.

Food and drink? Yes, and yes! Chef Sarah is roasting two pigs in addition to making her jambalaya, dirty rice, baking a KING CAKE and setting up an oyster shucking bar. Bartender Brandon Wise is mixing up Mardi Gras staples like sazeracs and, yes, hurricanes.

The party is coming up on Tuesday, March 8, from 6 p.m. until midnight. Price is $40 per person, includes the feed and entertainment.  It’s a cash bar.  Go to irvingstreetkitchen.com for more info.
