QUACK CRACK: It's a couple of days since the big BCS game, but I thought I would still post about our whereabouts on that night. While the city was awash in a sea of green and yellow, my partner Juan, and I seemed to be the only ones emblazoned in the U of Oregon colors at 23 Hoyt.
It was the perfect place to watch the game. Not only were there big screen TVs and tall chairs to watch them from, and great wine and cocktails to quaff, we also dined on the cuisine of Amber Webster, 23Hoyt's new chef from sunny California who whipped up a duck confit dish with handmade pasta that was to quack for. And, oh yeah, the game was good too. By the way, as I said on Facebook that night, it's really hard to start the "wave" in a nice restaurant.
