Well, I just got off the phone with Storm who is currently working her semi-nude ass off in Los Angeles at the Mark Taper Forum in previews for the Randy Newman musical "Harps and Angels" which officially opens on Nov. 21.
Ms. Large wanted me to tell you guys that she "loves Portland Center Stage," but that she will not be performing the role of the iconic rock singer in "Love, Janis" for the Portland theater.
A phone call to Portland Center Stage confirmed that Large is, indeed, not playing the role of Joplin, which is actually split up by two actresses. PCS has yet to announce just who those actresses might be.
RUMOR DU JOUR: On the subject of unsubstantiated gossip I don't know whether to believe this or not but a reader just informed me that, on Wednesday, Courtney Love was spotted in town and he said he saw her pose under the Satyricon sign that read "RIP 1986-2010." Hmmm...Love does have a soft spot for the just-closed rock club, but I checked her Twitter feed and it doesn't say anything about Portland or Satyricon...but there is that new "Nirvana" show that's opening next spring at Seattle's Experience Music Project, so who knows.
