Portland Mayor Sam Adams & Vancouver Mayor Tim Leavitt at AIDS Walk

SUNDAY STROLL: It was great to see the drag queens out so early in the day. After a couple of years of missing-in-action at the annual AIDS Walk Portland there was Darcelle XV, Poison Waters and a few other well-dressed local drag stars in full face and in the crowd at the very important event that filled Pioneer Courthouse Square on Sunday morning.

As always, Cascade AIDS Project fearless leader, Michael Kaplan, spoke eloquently—at both the donor's breakfast at Departure and at the Square—about our need to support CAP's efforts in Portland and through out the state.

It was also great to see so many red-Nike-jacket-wearing dignitaries and elected officials up early as well, including our own Mayor Sam Adams and, for the first time ever, Vancouver, Wash. Mayor Tim Leavitt, who is pretty darn cute in person. Just look at his legs. They were made for walking.
