Co-Chair Dwight Adkins helps lead the "flash mob" at BRO's Evening of Glee

GLEEK OUT: Over 900 supporters of Basic Rights Oregon filled the Oregon Convention Center to the rafters on Saturday night. The sold-out crowd were dressed to the nines in track suits and tux pants for "Glee Voices of Equality," the musically-minded, and perfect theme for this year's annual BRO Dinner and Auction.

And what a dinner it was. From the fabulous surprise "flash mob" comprised of BRO's staff, board and dinner committee members that suddenly appeared out of the audience and stormed the stage at the beginning of the show to the stellar performances by Tahoe Jackson, the new executive director of Oregon Ballet Theatre Diane Syrcle, Holcombe Waller, Beati Chorum and the kids from PCC's Illumination Project, it was definitely a night to remember. Kudos to the crew who put this together and to Roey Thorpe for giving such a rousing speech.

I also loved a couple of other things: that Governor John Kitzhaber made the event for the second time in two years and Chris Dudley (who should really be called Dude-ly) was no where to be seen. And I LOVED the after-party deep inside the Convention Center. Fueled by DJ Lunchlady it was a time for everyone—and I mean everyone—to cut loose. Just look at the photos below (and make sure to check out the "flash mob" video. It rocks!
