Adam Cerrillo in between songs at Starbucks and CAP's Avant Grande event

STARBUCK IDOL: Starbucks and Cascade AIDS Project paired up to bring back the popular Avant Grande last night for First Thursday, September 2nd, between 6 – 9 p.m.

Avant Grande offered Starbucks "partners" (a bunch of cute employees) to share their passions beyond coffee, specifically for art and music. It was also a chance for Portlanders to see what barista's do when they're not pulling shots, including Adam Cerrillo. He's the manager from the nearby SW 4th and Oak Street locale (it stayed open extra later for the event). And Adam is the reason I went to the arty show. That guy has been soooo excited for the last several weeks about Avant Grande and even performed with a tap dancer and a fellow guitarist. Other Starbucker's performed for the jam-packed crowd too. It was great to see some of my favorite barista friends after hours.
