Chonga and ChiChi at The Original Queer Night

QUEER IT UP: I have very fond memories of the original Queer Night—the one that used to live in La Luna.

It's where I really met my partner Juan Martinez.

It's also where I spent lots of Monday nights seeing friends and gettting, well, drunk.

So when I heard some old friends where relaunching what they billed as "The Original Queer Night"—except now it was going to be held at the glorious watering hole that is Bar Bar—I knew that I was in for some good times.

Now, I didn't realize just how much "fun" I would have. In fact, the whole night was sort of a blur. Oh yes, just like the old Queer Night at La Luna. Kids, I think we finally have a Monday club night that can truly hold the OG crown.

Helping the night go crazy were a couple of crazy drag-queen kids from Los Angeles that go by the name of ChiChi and Chonga.I have to tell you, these are two of the best drag/rap/hip-hop artists I have seen in a long time, and I am sure they are going to eat up this town in about two minutes. That's how good they are. They sort of remind of the chronic version of Betty and her sister Hilda from the TV show Ugly Betty with just a touch of J-Lo and Urkel added in for flavor. These two are smokin' hot!
