Chelsea Cain gets into the groove prior to her reading at Cargo

CARGO TALES: It was a reading so rare, as award-winning mystery novelist (and all-around swell gal) Chelsea Cain read from a "story" that she had written—and would read only once—just for an Our House Dinner that was hosted by the incredibly cool Patty Merrill and Bridgid Blackburn inside the intriguing innards of Cargo, perhaps Portland's most colorful shopper's paradise.

You see, it wasn't just any reading.

No, Chelsea went to the trouble of including everyone who attended the fabulous dinner party—which featured Catering by Bo and was served off authentic food vendor carts from Thailand—in her amazing tale of intrigue and murder that had allegedly happened inside the comfy confines of the always dazzling Cargo. It was beyond fabulous and reminded me just how special Chelsea Cain and Cargo are and that Portland is lucky to have them both living within our borders. A night to remember...forever.
