Jim Sampson and Sharon Kitzhaber in the garden of Bella Madrona
WITH THIS GARDEN: Jim Sampson and Geof Beasley are a lot of things: doctors, gardeners, activists, art lovers and collectors.
And now, after over 42 years of being together, they are married.
In celebration of the special occasion a party was held in their honor at their famed garden, Bella Madrona (aka the inspiration of Pink Martini's "In The Garden of Sampson & Beasley") in Sherwood, Ore. on Saturday night.
The buffet supper of a whole roasted pig, fruits and rice, with a variety of fruit and vegetable salads was served alongside coconut wedding cake and champagne to friends and family—including Jeffrey Smith, John Forsgren, Sharon Kitzhaber, Mindy Leek, Joan and John Shipley, Amy Estrin, Kirsty Munn, Brad Rogers, Christopher Israel, Larry and Denise Grimes, Donna Drummond, Grace Weston, Jane Beebe, Carl Halvorson, Patrick Abbey and others—who had spent the evening strolling through the garden of this spectacular estate.
Following the picnic-style dinner several friends shared stories about these two "kids" as a slide-show clicked away into the wee hours of the night. As dear Patrick Abbey said in his unique and colorful way: "the garden is magic." And so are Jim and Geof. I am sure I speak for everyone when I say "we love you very much." Congrats!
