Foodie News: Cafe Nell's Extreme Dining Options

NELL'S BELLS: The kids at Cafe Nell are currently creating some really cool and interesting menu options. Think of it as the dining equivalent to "rich man, poor man."
First up is Chef Andrew Garrett's seasonal seafood platter (see above). For $59 bucks you get all that is good from the sea including crab, crayfish, oysters, prawns, scallops and clams (and whatever else Chef fancies putting on the platter). It is ahhh-inspiring.

On the other end of the spectrum is his retro-fitted Plate du Jour menu offering Portland diners a unique dish each night of the week that is created to give them a rush of their favorite dishes from childhood...with a twist.
To celebrate the start of this nostalgic menu, Cafe Nell inviting a few bloggers to join them last night for Monday's dish: Tim's Jalapeno potato chip crusted fried chicken served with fried potato salad and biscuits with peach butter (but it was more like "butta"). It was friggin' amazing (and only $16 bucks).
Next Up: Cafe Nell's infamous clambake to benefit Basic Rights Oregon on Sept. 12. The party goes from 3 p.m. until 9 p.m. and is 21 and over only. A $45 donation is suggested at the door, and includes food, drinks and entertainment. Reservations are encouraged and can be made by calling the restaurant at 503-295-6487 or emailing This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it
