ON THE STREET (WHERE WE ALL LIVE): Portland's Mississippi Avenue isn't so much a street, as it is a way of life. And at no time is that more clear than during the annual Mississippi Street Fair. As it has in previous years, Saturday's street scene attracted thousands to its four stages and 120-plus vendors/artists/food-makers. These good folks, who flock from all over the region to this thriving North Portland neighborhood, end up filling Mississippi Street, between Skidmore and Fremont, with more love than any one city deserves. Congrats to all those who put this fabulous festival on. This really is one of the best events this city, or any other city for that matter, has to offer.
