Party Report: Bar Bar @ Mississippi Studios

RAISING THE BAR BAR: On the hottest day of the year, one of the hottest bars to ever hit Portland, Bar Bar @ Mississippi Studios, opened its doors for a VIP Party/Soft Opening. Owned and operated by Jim Brunberg and Alicia J. Rose in partnership with Portland entrepreneurs Peter Bro (Aalto, Broder, Savoy), Tali Ovadia (The Whole Bowl) and Kevin Cradock this cool crew has completely transformed the space that once was home to Mississippi Station. Staffed by some of Portland's most popular boite-spotters, the bar's actual bar has a pretty interesting history itself: until recently it was holding court as the thing you bellied up to at Produce Row Cafe (which also just went throw a major transformation). Another thing I found out about Bar Bar (which serves a goddamn good burger) is that one of the drinks is named for a certain folk singer who, well, took a big pee, in a green room garbage can rather than use one of Mississippi Studio's restrooms. I guess that's why they plan on building a new green room, under the new Bar Bar, that comes, you guessed it, complete with a bathroom just for the bands.
