STAR POWER: The third annual Fourth of July Outdoor American Dinner & Fireworks Party at clarklewis was a blast. Held behind the Southeast waterfront eatery, in a hay-strewn parking lot, Executive Chef Dolan Lane fired up the grill for a festive meal of American favorites that included mesquite grilled free range chicken and spit-roasted Carlton pork shoulder. And, frankly, the simple, yet tasty, roasted potato salad was one of the best versions I've ever sampled (I think it was the blue cheese dressing). Joining owner Bruce Carey, his hubby Joe Rogers, and their kids for dinner and the nearby fireworks display were none other than Portland Monthly's Nicole Vogel (who was seen chatting with her new restaurant editor/food critic Karen Brooks), PICA Executive Director Victoria Frey, Oregonian editorial cartoonist Jack Ohman, and Violetta owner Dwayne Beliakoff.
