GONE WITH THE FINDER: I knew I was at the right party when, right after I snapped a photo of a cute dude in a hoodie, the young gent said to me that, "he was going to have to kill me."

"Oh, really?" I replied to the guy who apparently wasn't keen on having his photo taken. "That's good to know."

On Tuesday night I was in the far reaches of industrial Northwest Portland, at a waterside party for the release of Willamette Week's latest edition of "all things Portland": Finder.

The party, well actually one party split into two sections, was located on either end of the far Northwest end of the riverwalk in front the tony Waterfront Pearl Apartments.

In a bit of a new twist on party navigation, that meant you had to walk the length of two football fields to get both a cup of Stumptown coffee and some tasty treats from Trebol. And somewhere in the middle was a really cool DJ.

And, as for the wind, well it was epic. Skirts, shirts, and assorted party-wares flapped in the breeze making for plenty of accidental spills and chills. Yeah, I was definitely at the right party.
