Shop Talk: Blake's Taking Over Former Smith & Hawken

THIS JUST IN: Blake, an incredibly cool clothing store situated just a few steps above Northwest Johnson Street on Northwest 23rd Avenue (see above), went buh-bye a few weeks ago. The closure was a big blow to the neighborhood (and to my partner's closet as he spends a good chunk of change at this contemporary-minded clothing boutique).
But I just found out that Blake is back—bigger and better than ever.
Owner, Blake Neiman-Davis, has just signed a lease to occupy the former Smith & Hawken store at 26 NW 23rd Place, located next door to Twist and near Levi's and Urban Outfitters. With 3,700-square feet to fill it will be a major step up in size for Blake who is sure to fill it with the best and the brightest the fashion world has to offer.
Congrats to Neiman-Davis. And to Northwest Portland. The new and improved Blake just gave us another reason to shop your streets.
