NEW(WO)MAN IN TOWN: File this under "hard-to-confirm-but-would-be-totally-awesome-if-its-true," but I've just heard word that one of the daughters of screen legend Paul Newman is on the search for someplace to call home in Portland. Now I have no idea if it's actually true or not but rumor has it that one of Newman's own (he has five daughters) was spotted looking at a space in downtown Portland this week.

Now, could it be none other than Nell Newman?

The co-founder and president of Newman's Own Organics, the spin-off sustainable-minded biz she started from her dear old dad's original Newman's Own, Nell certainly fits the profile of someone who might move to Oregon. And, according to an interview with Blue Planet Green Living, she has been working with Oregon Tilth for over 20 years. Hmmmm....it might be worth keeping an eye out for a beautiful blonde with amazing eyes at the farmers markets. It just might be her.

UPDATE, Thurs. June 17: Nell Newman was in fact in Portland this week for a speaking engagement and to visit friends (who were looking at homes both here and elsewhere in Oregon).
