In The Works: Rufus Wainwright to Perform At TBA With Oregon Symphony.

DIVA DISH: Heard from a little bird—okay it was Thomas Lauderdale—that PICA is thisclose to securing the one and only Rufus Wainwright to perform excerpts from his opera, Prima Donna, with the Oregon Symphony at next fall's Time Based Art Festival.
According to its wiki entry the opera "is about "a day in the life of an aging opera singer", anxiously preparing for her comeback in 1970s Paris, who falls in love with a journalist."
If it happens (and word from at least one insider says its likely), it will be another feather in the cap of Portland's most intriguing festival.
