Stardar Report: Dennis Hopper's Son and Sissy Spacek's Daughter Star in New Gus Van Sant Film

FAMILY FILM: The film formerly known as "Restless"—now the Untitled Gus Van Sant Project—is shooting in, and around, Portland.
And guess what? It stars the offspring of not one, but two, movie legends.
Henry Lee Hopper is the son of crazy man/art collector/screen idol Dennis Hopper (gawd, I loved him in Blue Velvet) and Schuyler Fisk is the daughter of the one and only Coal Miner's Daughter star, Sissy Spacek.
According to The Hollywood Reporter here Hopper, in his first starring role, is playing a boy who is trying to get over the death of his parents.
Hopper's love interest is Mia Wasikowska who is about to have her last name mangled by talk show hosts everywhere once Tim Burton's version of Alice In Wonderland (Mia plays Alice) hits the screen.
Fisk will play Wasikowska's sister.
And, funny thing, it's been produced by another acting offspring of another Hollywood icon: Ron Howard's daughter Bryce Dallas Howard (who is currently kicking up dirt now that she has replaced one of the stars in the Twilight saga).
"It captures the profoundly defining turning point of a young person's life with stark realism, irreverent humor and intense emotion," Howard says of the story in the aforementioned THR article. "I think that Gus was drawn to this story because he has an uncanny ability to convey the complexities of youth and outsiders, and this is, above all else, the journey of an outsider."
No shit.
So little word is coming from the set (the pic above is Gus with Viva Las Vegas and Walt Curtis) that it doesn't surprise me that I didn't hear about this, but Willamette Week had some insider info here and Portland Sentinel has a nice bit about some filming take place in North Portland here and, again, on Youtube below:
