WHISTLING PIXIE: "Happy Birthday Pixie Project" was the theme for a sold-out soiree held in Venue Pearl, one of Northwest Portland's freshest party spaces. Dedicated to providing animal adoption, The Pixie Project, attracted several hundred two-legged supporters who bid on both silent and live auction—including a very cool photo of Mick Jagger and Andy Warhol by Pat Hackett—while they dined on elaborate veggie dishes provided by local restaurants. Executive Director Amy Sacks (pictured above with her wonderful mom Ann Sacks), who gives heart and soul to The Pixie Project, was able to get "oohs and ahhs" out of the audience when she announced the non-profit is scheduled to appear early next year on "The Ellen DeGeneres Show."
