THAT'S MORE LIKE IT: Cort (left) and Fatboy (right) are making a return to the airwaves...er...podcasts. Since the "nice" folks at the new KUFO "freed up their future" this dynamic radio duo has done anything but slow down.

In fact, next Monday, they will make a triumphant return to their yammering, stammering, dare I say audacious podcasts at cortandfatboy.com.

In honor of the auspicious occasion I thought I would check in with my ho-bros about the new show.

Here is what they had to say.

Byron Beck: What can we expect from the new "Cort and Fatboy" show?

Fatboy: It's going to be basically the exact same show. We're working on actual phone lines being made active, so we can take callers, play the games we used to play, have a conversation with the people taking time out of their day to listen to us yammer, the whole shebang. There'll be some cosmetic differences here and there, but basically: Same recipe, new kitchen. If you've downloaded a show in the last 6 months, then you know what you're going to get.

Will you still have "guests"...hint, hint?

Yes, we're looking into keeping everyone who was a regular guest on the old show: Mike Russell, David Walker, this one gay dude who used to come in and fixate on our dicks for 30 minutes straight...

Can we still talk about your penis?....(click read more to see that and other answers)

Yes, you can still talk about my penis. Even if we said no, I doubt that would stop you. That's be like telling a shark to stop swimming. You're like a shark. You just gotta keep...uh, talking about dicks. The question is whether you'll be cool with coming to hang out with us in a basement in SE as opposed to the posh studios we used to accomodate.

What do you hope will happen now that you two are on your own?

That the show keeps growing. That's it. I know the ultimate goal for any podcaster/broadcaster/entertainer is to make a substantial living off of doing what you love, but really, for me, the hope is that we don't lose anyone as we go running off full speed into the intertrons. Don't get me wrong - if we can wring a decent check out of this, then I'm all smiles. That is, of course, way easier said than done. But my optimistic, naive hope is that the number of people who keep listening, keep coming to our events, keeps growing, and doesn't stagnate.

Any parting words to your former employers?

Thanks for letting me entertain people for a living. It's an opportunity most don't get, and I got it, and whether I succeeded or failed, I was happy to have that opportunity, and happy to share it with the Cap'n and the people who thought we were worth paying attention to for a couple minutes every day.

What's going on this weekend?

Funny you should ask. Friday night is the CORT AND FATBOY MIDNIGHT MOVIE, a series we've been doing for the last 4 years, and will keep doing regardless of our employment status. A couple of things came with us when we were shown the door - The Final Season of Lost at the Bagdad is one, as is Premiere Series Screenings at the Roseway Theater. And Midnight Movies at the Bagdad is another. They happen the first friday of every month, and for November, we're showing The Coen Bros. "Raising Arizona." 3$ to get in, gotta be 21 or over. Doors open at 10.

(I know, it doesn't start at midnight, but they USED to. We had to move em back to 11pm because 1) the OLCC was getting nervous about movie lengths and keeping a bar open past closing time and 2) people were falling asleep. We figure you're still IN the theater at Midnight, so it's not that much of a misnomer. )

Also, Saturday, I will be portraying "First Mate" and doing a bunch of set/scene changes in the Atomic Arts (of "Trek in the Park" fame) production of "Nosferatu" at the Shoebox Theater. Show is at 10, to reserve your seat, call (503) 927-5699. Tickets are 15 bucks, and the theater only holds 37 people. The show runs Friday-Saturday until November 21st.

Cort: That should do.

CORT AND FATBOY MIDNIGHT MOVIE: Raising Arizona, Bagdad Theatre and Pub, 3702 SE Hawthorne Blvd., 10 pm Friday, Nov. 6. $3. +21
