Splendor In the Crystal: PInk Martini's Record Release Concert

FLOWER POWER: Pink Martini's fourth album, "Splendor In The Grass" comes out today.
In honor of the occasion a record release concert was held Monday night at The Crystal Ballroom (pictured above).
And it was simply stunning.
The room included 12,000+ balloons, 2,000+ flowers given out to every concert-goer and giant paper programs. Speaking of those over-sized collector items, each one shared juicy insider tidbits such as the fact the song "Splendor in the Grass" is an ode to Oregon and "And Then You're Gone" includes a nod to Gloria Gaynor's "I Will Survive" (and whispers abounded that a certain superstar will join the band on New Year's Eve at the "Arlene"-the new name for the Schnitz).
The night also saw its share of adoring fans. It was kind of like being on The Love Boat. Kudos to Thomas Lauderdale's boyfriend Philip Iosca for transforming the concert venue into something from a 1940's movie set. Here a few photos from last night's show.
