BOOK NOOK: A book reading and signing was held in Old Town at Studio J on Thursday night for "The Mighty Gastropolis Portland" by Karen Brooks, Teri Gelber and Gideon Bosker.

Ms. Brooks read from the timely tome which captures quite eloquently the fascinating story of one of Portland's most evocative pop culture scenes and what Brooks and her co-authors liken to as "a journey through the center of America's new food revolution."

Much like the book, the party was a heady cross-section of Portland's most interesting people who were there to support the longtime restaurant critic and author who seemed to be having a blast working the room and signing her best-seller. Wine and small bites were provided by a who's who of local purveyors including Gruner, St. Jack, Boke Bowl, Salt & Straw, Olympic Provisions,  Pok Pok, The Sugar Cube and T Project.
