PROM-A-RAMA: The Our House Annual Benefit Auction is the biggest fundraising event of the year for an organization providing vital services to people in our community who are living with HIV/AIDS. Held on Saturday night at the Portland Art Museum this year's theme was "prom night."

It has been a few years since I went to my last prom, but somehow, it felt like just yesterday at this fun-filled auction-friendly event. We pre-funked at Charlie Frazier and Rick Taylor's beautiful downtown condo before heading to the museum and witnessing event chairs Gary Nelson and Minh Tran set the tone with a hilarious video and Master of Ceremonies Dale Johannes and Auctioneer Johnna Wells do much of the heavy lifting when it came to raising awareness and funds for Our House and its incredible programs (the final total was well in the vicinity of $430,000). Following dinner and auction, dancing was held in a sliver of a space where the "kings" and "queens" of the prom kicked up their heels late into the night.
