Nicky USA's Geoff Latham chats up Chef Gregory Gourdet and a friend at Sausage Fest
SAUSAGE FEST: Yesterday I stuffed my face with sausage and I loved it.
Nicky USA held their annual "Sausage Fest" at their SE Industrial HQ on Wednesday afternoon.
A chance to sample some damn good sausage (Water Buffalo Five Spice, Veal Porcini with Willamette Valley Chardonnay, Russian-style Wild Boar among others) and sausage makers, it was also a chance to hear more about owner Geoff Latham's recent "purchase." Nicky USA recently announced the purchase of a certified Organic farm in Aurora, OR where they plan to grow their own animals for top chefs across the Northwest. The Portland based butcher and meat purveyor will grow rabbits, game birds, and other unique animals using humane and sustainable practices. The purchase marks a return to Latham’s roots as a farmer and distinguishes Nicky USA as the only Northwest meat distributor to also raise their own meat.
