PostHeaderIcon Greek Chic Week 2: PAM's Freaky Bacchanal Ballroom

The Bawdy Beautiful Review get their Greek On at Bacchanal Ballroom and patrons on stage

GET YOUR GREEK FREAK ON: There was a bank robbery holding up most of downtown last night, but that wasn't going to stop me for returning to the Portland Art Museum's "Happy Hour with an Edge," the Bacchanal Ballroom.

Where else do I get a chance to take pics of half-naked bodies in the middle of a million dollars worth of great Greek art?

Like I mentioned last week, in honor of PAM's current exhibit——the buffed-up "The Body Beautiful" —every Thursday night in November (except Thanksgiving) the museum shift gears and transform into the "bawdy beautiful." The Bacchanal Ballroom offers a steamy, more-than-slightly provocative, after work social blender that transforms the museum into a high energy dance club.

So there I was again with "The Bawdy Beautiful Review" and the amazing DJ Zimmie. Except this week it was upstairs in the big Kridel Ballroom, with more lights, more staging, and well, more skin.

It is so much fun! And this week, I even have a video of their "dance" below:

Bacchanal Ballroom: Happy Hour with an Edge November 1, 8, 15, and 29, 5:30 – 8:30 p.m. 21 and over only. $7 members; $10 non-members. Click here for more information.
