Strong Man, guest, Bearded Lady, Juan Martinez, Stephen Marc Beaudoin, Robert Goman, Lisa Watson, Judge Kemp

CIRCUS OF THE STARS: Robert Goman, Nike dude and all around swell guy, celebrated his 45th birthday in style at Castaway Studios in Northwest Portland on Saturday night.

The theme? Three ring circus with just a touch of show biz glitter thrown in.

A bearded "lady," jazzy bands, acrobats, and the hunkiest "strong man" this town has ever seen (in a singlet no less) transformed an arty studio space into a fantastical world of fun. And the corn dogs and Joe's Caramel Corn may have done nothing for our diets but provided the perfect circus "scent-sation," along with those incredible sweets from  Cupcake Jones displayed under brightly colored banners atop a bevy of giant drums.

All in all, it was the perfect party for those of us who are kids at heart—and on the dance floor.

Congrats to Robert, his partner Stephen Marc Beaudoin, and everyone who gave us the chance to "run away with the circus," if not for a lifetime, at least for a night.
