HIGH DESERT SPIRITS: I have FINALLY recovered from a blow-out of a weekend.  So, what kept me so busy? It was the 2nd Annual NW Spirits and Mixology Show in Bend, Oregon, part of the 10th Annual Bite of Bend.

I didn't just go to the show. I was a part of it.

That is I was one of the judges at Saturday's Bartender's Brawl (the winner was Jabriel Donohue, Drambuie Brand Influencer and the Vice Prez of the Oregon Bartenders Guild). I also did a ton of interviews on Saturday and Sunday on the "White Couch" sponsored by Drambuie (I spent an a lot of time with Jabriel this weekend).

I loved this event. First off, the Bite of Bend is really cool (and I am not just talking about about the very frigid night time temps) with tons of vendors, including a "stuffed banana" stand, a race and a really attractive crowd.

And the Spirits and Mixology is unlike any other event in the Northwest. It's an entire street dedicated to craft cocktails and local and state-wide spirits. I saw plenty of Portland faces on the street, and I can't wait to attend next year's big event.
