True Story: MTV's Next Real World to Shoot in Portland
IT'S ABOUT TIME: It's been rumored for years that it was going to happen here, but I can now confirm that MTV'S "The Real World" will shoot the next season of the iconic reality show in Portland, Oregon.
I have it on good authority this will take place as early as the beginning of July.
It will be the 28th season of the longest running show in MTV history.
No word on whether or not the crew will get jobs at Voodoo Doughnuts or Powell's Books, or whether or not Grimm star David Giuntoli will make an alumni appearance as he was one of the contestants on the spin-off show "Road Rules" several years ago.
With Real World in the mix, four series will be shooting their season over the summer here in Portland.
The 27th season of The Real World, set to premiere on June 27, takes place in the Virgin Islands.

Jones - We Are the Real World! The average length of time a "Newcomer" can stand our unique brand of weather, is about 3-5 yrs. then they become so depressed that they either commit suicide, or, they just move away to sunnier climates. At least it helps to keep the Real Estate market in a constant state of flux!
As A Real Estate Broker that has "Gone Green", I'm in the perfect place at the right time!

Oregon is a large state and there is still plenty of "room" here in this wonderful state for many more people to come and experience what it's like to live here!

|76.105.188.xxx |2012-06-20 08:34:02 Diana L. Jones - CEO of SELFI'm also an Oregonian and my birth certificate says so. Both sets of grandparents homesteaded here and developed the state and it's econnomy from all angles and many sides/professions for over 5 generations.
However, I do not claim any speciall ownership of this state and merely work to consrve our resources, welcome the newcomers if they are a positive influence and enjoy the differences in all of our cultures!
Was that a "run-on" sentence or what? I should have been an attorney, as this is what they do well............!
As a dyed in the wool Westerner and Independent thinking person, I welcome the newcomers to Oregon, as our history is full of newcomers that all contributed greatly to what we have today.
By the way, I've lived in Montana for 8 years as a Farm Ranch Real Estate Broker, Political Activist, Native American Foster Parent and champion of private property rights as the Realtors Political Rep to the State capitol for pvt property rights legislation. All in a...

|212.111.39.xxx |2012-08-30 03:21:28 Formerly Seattle - Have a look at your FUTUREJust go up the I-5 corridor to Seattle and have a look at what welcoming an "influx of newcomers" does to a city. Trust me, if you love Portland, YOU DO NOT WANT IT TO HAPPEN TO YOU. All I have left of that city is my vivid memories of childhood in a place that felt open and free and now have watched it turn into one giant Starbucks with half the trees it used to have.
I almost barfed when my friend from Portland told me that the RW was shooting there, but then I had an overwhelming sense of relief when remembered how the RW cast in Seattle ('97) was received. We didn't want them then, and I'm sure the majority of Portland doesn't want them now.
Maybe they can get jobs as freelance bloggers from Brooklyn? I heard that's a growth industry at the moment in Portland.

|69.168.48.xxx |2012-06-19 14:29:53 ErinPDX - ORYGUNHell, I just want all of the newcomers to pronounce Oregon correctly: ORYGUN. University of Oregon students made shirts in the 1970's we were so annoyed. It is NOT OR UH GUN. It is ORYGUN. You must smile in the middle of the word or you aren't saying it correctly. Please stop with the UGH. Thank you.

|71.53.67.xxx |2012-08-04 16:52:50 StellaI too am born and raised and I really don't want the real world to be filed here. The thing about Portland, is that it is special, but it was once more special. Now all the Californians and transplants moving here are just making it suck with raising rent prices, causing serious traffic and expanding the city. Yuppies and hipsters, please go elsewhere. I love my city, but I had to leave for a few in hopes that when I come back I will try and get over that it has changed in a very big way. It is too small of a city for all the people that want to move here. Nuff said. I agree with the visit, but then please go home.
