Bill Foster, Nel Centro nibbles, and Thomas Phillipson at PIFF Opening Night Party
PARTY REPORT: The Portland International Film Festival kicked off Thursday with a special Opening Night screening of CBS Films’ Salmon Fishing in the Yemen at the Portland Center for the Performing Arts’ Newmark Theater, followed by an Opening Night party hosted by Nel Centro, Hotel Modera, and The Paul G. Allen Family Foundation at Nel Centro.
The party, taking place both inside the restaurant and outside in the courtyard—with beverages provided from Pyramid Breweries, Firesteed Winery, New Deal Vodka, and Steven Smith Tea, and music from the jazz/swing band Swing Papillon—had such a Hollywood vibe. Maybe it was because it was so warm for such a cold time of year, or perhaps it had to do with the fact that so many cool people had taken over the modern hotel. Who needs the Chateau Marmont when we have the Hotel Modera. Congrats to Bill Foster, Thomas Phillipson, Jessica Lyness, Russ Gage and the rest of the Northwest Film Center PIFF crew for another incredible opening night.
